Amateur Course of Landscape Design

Course duration - 3 months (100 academic hours)

The amateur course of landscape design is geared for landscaping a private garden adjacent to a summer/country house and is meant for people interested in trying their own hand in organizing their country household. It is for people, who would like to plunge into a wonderful world of ornamental gardening and design their own garden according to personal preferences.

There is no previous experience or education requirements in subjects, such as art or biology, for entering this course.

At the lessons you will get introduced to the foundations of landscape projecting; you will become familiar with the plants suited for our climate and soilas well as learn about modern technologies and materials, applied in landscape design of countryside cottage area.

In parallel with your main curriculum you will be also working on an individual design project for your own garden. Under the guidance of your teacher, an experienced practicing landscape designer, you will be able to implement your vision of the future garden to its full potential, create all the necessary drafts and choose appropriate plants. Bythe end of the course you will be a happy owner of a “ready to go” design project and will have obtained the new knowledge and the priceless experiencein the field of landscape design.

The course of landscape design at the school “Divina Harmonia” is completed with an open presentation of course projects. At the end of the course you will receive a completion certificate.

2. Styles developed throughout history and their application (6academic hours)
3. Rules and methods of landscape design (8 academic hours)
4. Architectural graphics. Drafting (12 academic hours)
5. Layout of garden space (8 academic hours)      

6. Organization of the cottage area (24 academic hours)

7. Soil(type, underground waters, acidity) (4 academic hours)
8. Biological fundamentals of landscape gardening (32 academic hours)
9. Work on a design project.
10. Open presentation of a course project (4 academic hours)
